Xenia, the art of hospitality

The highest honour for a household in Ancient Greece was to grant the gift of hospitality to whoever sought it, regardless of whether they were a friend or stranger. Stranger, in Ancient Greek, is xenos, and the art of hospitality is called xenia. The way we see and interpret it, hospitality isn’t a walk in the park. Our hospitality is based on strong values, and it rejects a commodified, stereotypical, and exacerbated form of tourism.
